Now in its 17th year, the All-Ireland Community and Council Awards will take place in Tipperary in 2023. The awards are presented by LAMA (Local Authority Members Association) and IPB Insurance.

All Ireland Community And Council Awards 2023

These awards recognise and celebrate communities and councils working together. They provide a great opportunity to highlight and celebrate the work done within our communities, to reward our unsung heroes and recognise the phenomenal contribution they’ve made to our lives. With over 200 nominated projects expected from all the councils across Ireland in 24 categories, the 2023 awards will be the biggest yet. An independent judging panel will whittle down applications to the shortlisted finalists that will go forward for the glitzy ceremony on the night.

This year’s event, which will be compered by RTE TV Presenter, Maura Derrane, will have special reduced-price tickets for Community nominees to encourage even more participation, thanks to the generous sponsorship of companies like Failte Ireland, Bon Secours Health System, An Post, Energia, NTA and many more. Nominations are open to everyone at present and encouraged, they can be submitted easily at

Cllr Micheal Anglim, Chairperson of LAMA, remarked;

“The 31 local authorities throughout the country have always been very supportive of the Awards and of LAMA and that is always very much appreciated. Nominees and shortlisted projects will represent many different counties throughout the country. Many of which will be volunteers working tirelessly in local areas for no reason other than for the love of the parish, village or town. These awards are for the people who give the best example of what it is to be Irish.”

As the headline sponsor, George Jones, Chair of IPB Insurance, said:

 “IPB Insurance is proud to be headline sponsor of the Community and Council Awards in partnership with Local Authority Members Association (LAMA). As the mutual insurer to Ireland’s local authorities, we are delighted to support these Awards which celebrate the unique and symbiotic relationship enjoyed by Local  Authorities  and  their  communities.
These awards also serve  to  illustrate what can be achieved when community volunteerism is encouraged and supported at a local level.”
